On May 31, 2017, Clayton County Deputies arrested 50 year old Darrill Hall of Postville on a Clayton County Warrant for Probation Violation. Hall was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he is being held on $2,000 cash bond.

On May 31, 2017 at 2:42pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Highway 13 and Bridge Street. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Mikayla Suomala of Garnavillo was operating a 2002 Ford Taurus South on Highway 13, when a 2012 Chevrolet Impala operated by Mary Heiden of Elkader entered the roadway from Bridge Street. Suomala’s vehicle struck Heiden’s vehicle. Both vehicles sustained about $10,000 damage. Heiden was transported to the Central Community Hospital by Central Ambulance for treatment of injuries. Heiden was cited for Failure to Yield upon entering a though highway. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Elkader Police Departent, Elkader Fire Department and Central Ambulance Service.

On June 1, 2017 at 9:33pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a car vs. deer accident on Highway 128. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Julie Doeppke of Elkader was operating a 2001 Ford Windstar Minivan when she struck a deer causing $3,000 damage.

On June 2, 2017 at 2:28pm, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at 304 Truman Street in Luana. Upon further investigation, Deputies determined that an assault had taken place. Deputies arrested 40 year old John Kottman of Elgin for Domestic Abuse Assault causing injury and obstruction of an emergency phone call. Kottman was transported to the Clayton County Jail pending an appearance in Magistrate Court.

On June 3, 2017 at 10:00 am, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to an illegal dumping call on King Road near Highway 52. Upon further investigation, Deputies discovered evidence leading to Pablo Morales of Garnavillo being charged with Illegal Dumping. Morales was cited into court, and will appear in court at a later date.

On June 3, 2017 at 8:13pm, Clayton County Deputies conducted a welfare check on a person walking on Highway 18 near Highway 52. Deputies came into contact with Fala-Simon Armenta (34) of Postville. Upon further investigation, Deputies located drug paraphernalia on his person. Armenta was placed under arrest and transported to the Clayton County Jail pending an appearance in Magistrate Court.

On June 7, 2017 at 12:39pm, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 52 near King Road. Upon further investigation, Clayton County K9 Raven was deployed. K9 Raven indicated to the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. Deputies located marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Deputies arrested 34 year old Brett Arey of Davenport for Possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Arey was also cited for speeding. He was transported to the Clayton County Jail pending an appearance in Magistrate Court.

On June 7, 2017 at 2:00pm Clayton County Deputies along with the Elkader Police Department receive information that a wanted person was in the City of Elkader. Deputies located 38 year old Dean Johnson of McGregor. Johnson was wanted out of Winneshiek County for a warrant. Johnson was arrested, and during a search of his person, drug paraphernalia was located. Johnson was transported to the Clayton County Jail pending an appearance in Magistrate Court.

On June 9, 2017 at 6:00pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Kale Ave near 318th Street. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Brandon Kyle of Guttenberg was operating a 1996 Chevrolet K2500 when he lost control. His vehicle entered the ditch and overturned causing $5,000 damage. No injuries were reported. Kyle, and a passenger, Robbie Kramer of Dyersville were both cited for Failure to use seat belt. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Guttenberg Police Department.

On June 12, 2017, Clayton County Deputies took custody of 24 year old Levi Moll of Colesburg from Delaware County Authorities on a Clayton County Warrant for failure to appear. Moll was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he is being held on $10,000 bond.

On June 13, 2017, Clayton County Deputies took custody of 30 year old Jason Feuerhelm of Dubuque from the Crawford County Jail on a Clayton County Warrant for Failure to appear, and charges of OWI-3rd Offense. Feuerhelm was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he is being held on $6,000 bond.

On June 14, 2017 at 5:15pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Highway 18 and Coral Ave. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Mollie Ward of Luana was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Impala Westbound on Highway 18. Ward was stopped waiting to turn left onto Coral Ave, when she was rear ended by a 2004 Chevrolet Impala operated by Bridget Ellenson of Luana causing $4,000 damage to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. Ellenson was cited for Failure to Maintain Control. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Postville Fire Department and Ambulance.

On June 15, 2017, Clayton County Deputies took custody of 37 year old Quin Echard of Luana from the Jackson Correctional Facility in Black River Falls on a Clayton County Warrant for manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance. Echard will remain in the Clayton County Jail pending the disposition of the case, and will then be transferred back to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

On June 15, 2017 at 2:02pm, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Anti-Monopoly Street in Marquette. Upon further investigation, Deputies arrested 41 year old Derick Ihde of Marquette for Driving while suspended. Ihde was transported to the Clayton County Jail pending an appearance in Magistrate Court.

On June 16, 2017, Clayton County Deputies arrested Fala-Simon Armenta (34) of Postville on a Clayton County Warrant for Pre-Trial Violation for Possession of a controlled substance, possession of contraband in a correctional facility and drug paraphernalia. Armenta was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he is being held without bond.
