On July 22, 2017 at 3:36am, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to 22415 Great River Road for a report of a vandalism. Upon further investigation, Deputies arrested 61 year old Jay Connell of Garnavillo for Criminal Mischief- 3rd degree. Connell was transported to the Clayton County Jail pending an appearance in Magistrate Court

 

On July 24, 2017 at 12:04am, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at 105 N Main Street in Garnavillo. Upon further investigation Deputies learned that an assault had taken place. Deputies arrested 34 year old Joshua Lewis of Garnavillo for Domestic Abuse Assault with Strangulation, unlawful possession of a prescription drug, and child endangerment. Lewis was transported to the Clayton County Jail pending an appearance in Magistrate Court.

 

On July 24, 2017 at 10:11am, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to a driving complaint in the City of Guttenberg. Deputies located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on North Third Street. Deputies came into contact with 53 year old Gary Neiers of Guttenberg. Upon further investigation, Neiers was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 3rd Offense. Neiers was transported to the Clayton County Jail pending an appearance in Magistrate Court. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Guttenberg Police Department.

 

On July 25, 2017 at 9:15pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a car vs deer accident on Highway 56. Upon further investigation it was determined that David Dennler of Elkader was operating a 2008 Ford F150 when he struck a deer causing $2,500 damage. No injuries were reported.

 

On July 26, 2017 at 9:30pm, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to a car vs deer accident on 205th Street. Upon further investigation it was determined that Melanie Lane of Elkader was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt when she struck a deer causing $5,000 damage. No injuries were reported

 

On July 27, 2017 Clayton County Deputies took custody of 33 year old Randy Slaught of Decorah from the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office on a Clayton County Warrant for Failure to Appear. Slaught was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was held on $1,000 bond.

 

On July 27, 2017 at 7:30pm, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to a one vehicle accident on Colesburg Road. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Donald Phelps of Colesburg was operating a 2003 Harley Davidson Motorcycle when he lost control, and entered the ditch causing $1,500 damage. Phelps sustained minor injuries. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Garber Fire and First Responder’s and the Colesburg Ambula

 

On July 29, 2017 at 9:12pm, the Garnavillo Police Department requested the assistance of Clayton County Deputies on Main St near Harrison Street for a traffic stop. When Deputies arrived they came into contact with 35 year old Tyler Payne of Strawberry Point. Upon further investigation, Payne was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated-1st Offense. Payne was transported to the Clayton County Jail pending an appearance in Magistrate Court.

 

On July 30, 2017 at 10:40pm, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to 32227 Osterdock Road for a disturbance. Upon further investigation, it was determined that a violation of a no contact order had taken place. Deputies arrested 24 year old Joshua Heironimus of Guttenberg for Violation of a No Contact Order and also a warrant from Delaware County for Assault. Heironimus was transported to the Clayton County Jail pending an appearance in Magistrate Court.

 

On August 4, 2017 Clayton County Deputies arrested 53 year old Teresa Fuller of Postville on a Clayton County Warrant for Failure to Appear. Fuller was transported to the Clayton County Jail where she was held on $1,000 bond.

 

On August 5, 2017 at 10:32pm, Clayton County Deputies came into contact with a vehicle parked on the side of the road on Highway 13 and Canoe Road. Upon making contact with the driver, Deputies observed signs of impairment. Upon further investigation, Deputies arrested 20 year old Gavin Dinsdale of Webster City for Operating While Intoxicated-1st Offense.
