On March 4, 2019, Clayton County Deputies arrested 51 year old Benjamin Lechnir of McGregor on a Clayton County Warrant for Ongoing Criminal Conduct, Pretrial violation and theft 2nd degree. Lechnir was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was held on $10,000 bond.

 

On March 4, 2019 at 8:15am, Clayton County Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Galaxy Road. Upon further investigation, Deputies determined that Kevin Harbaugh of Guttenberg was operating a 2015 F350 when he lost control due to road conditions causing his vehicle and livestock trailer to jack knife causing $10,000 damage. No injuries were reported. 

 

On March 5, 2019 at 12:57pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Grape Road near Elkader. Deputies came into contact with 32 year old Nicholas Meyer of Elkader. Upon further investigation, Meyer was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with Driving While Suspended. 

 

On March 6, 2019, Clayton County Deputies arrested 25 year old Carissa Abbey of Manchester on a Clayton County Warrant for delivery of marijuana. The charge stems from a narcotics investigation in September 2018 where Abbey is accused of delivering marijuana in the City of Edgewood. She was transported to the Clayton County Jail where she was held on $5,000 bond.

 

On March 7, 2019, Clayton County Deputies arrested 30 year old Kara Seitz of Guttenberg and 32 year old John Hutchinson Jr. of Guttenberg after they turned themselves in on Clayton County Warrants stemming from a narcotics investigation in January in the City of Guttenberg. Seitz was charged with Child Endangerment, Possession of a controlled substance-marijauna and Possession of drug paraphernalia. Hutchinson was charged with Child Endangerment and Possession of drug paraphernalia. 

 

On March 8, 2019 at 12:14am, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop at 4th Street and Hill Street in Garber. Deputies came into contact with 49 year old Chad Dahling of Edgewood. Deputies observed signs of impairment. Upon further investigation, Dahling was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with Operating While Intoxicated-1st Offense.

 

On March 9, 2019 at 1:58am, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 13 near Kristine Ave. Deputies came into contact with 25 year old Cassie Bolsinger of Elkader. Deputies observed signs of impairment. Upon further investigation, Bolsinger was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where she was charged with Operating While Intoxicated- 1st Offense and driving on the wrong side of a two lane highway. 

 

On March 9, 2019 at 5:19pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Highway 13 near Strawberry Point. Upon further investigation, Deputies determined that Brian Burns of Strawberry Point was operating a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix when he lost control of his vehicle due to road conditions. His vehicle entered the ditch striking a cable barrier causing $6,000 damage. No injuries were reported. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Strawberry Point Police Department.

 

On March 9, 2019, after a narcotics investigation in 2018, Clayton County Deputies charged 36 year old Perry Stone of Luana with delivery of methamphetamine. At 8:46pm, Clayton County Deputies observed Stone driving on 115th Street near Luana and conducted a traffic stop. Deputies located marijuana during the traffic stop. Stone was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with delivery of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance 3rd offense, and driving while suspended. 

 

On March 10, 2019 after a several month long investigation into the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics, Clayton County Deputies arrested 53 year old Martin Miles of McGregor on two counts of delivery of methamphetamine in the City of McGregor. Miles was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was held on $10,000 bond.

 

On March 10, 2019 after an investigation in October of 2018 into the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics, Clayton County Deputies arrested 36 year old David Gray of Saint Olaf on a Clayton County Warrant for Delivery of Marijuana. Gray was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was held on $5,000 bond.

 

On March 11, 2019 at 3:38pm, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop at First Street and Goethe Street in Guttenberg. Deputies came into contact with 35 year old Bridget Ehrhardt of Elkader. Upon further investigation, Ehrhardt was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where she was charged with Driving While Suspended. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Guttenberg Police Department.

 

On March 11, 2019 at 7:46pm, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at 105 E Church Street in Farmersburg. Deputies came into contact with 36 year old Travis Brink. During the investigation, Deputies located Marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Brink was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with possession of a control substance marijuana- 1st offense and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol.

 

On March 13, 2019 at 10:05am, Clayton County Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 13 and 52. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Carol Funke of Hiawatha was operating a 2018 Hyundai Sonata Northbound on Highway 13. Funke’s vehicle was stopped at the stop sign, and was rear ended by a 2002 Toyota Camry operated by Stephanie Fox-Dixon of Saint Olaf. Both vehicle sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported. Fox-Dixon was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.

 

On March 16, 2019 at 7:54pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a car vs deer accident on Highway 13 near Grandview Road. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Janarius Tschirgi of Edgewood was operating a 2018 Ford Ecosport when he struck a deer causing $3,000 damage. No injuries were reported.

 

On March 19, 2019 at 1:51pm, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to a report of a burglary at 401 Main Street in Luana. During the investigation, Deputies identified a suspect. Deputies came into contact with 34 year old Peter Torres of Luana. Deputies located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and we able to link Torres to the burglary investigation. Deputies arrested and transported Torres to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree- Class D Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine- 3rd Offense (Class D Felony) and Possession of drug paraphernalia. Torres is being held on $5,000 bond.
