On November 11, 2018 at 11:01pm, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to the City of Garber for a vehicle that struck a garbage can and drove away. Deputies were able to located the vehicle in the City of Garber but were unable to locate the driver. Deputies charged 20 year old Cody Simon of Guttenberg with driving while revoked, and possession of alcohol under 21 years of age- 3rd Offense. He turned himself into Clayton County Deputies on November 15th.


On November 12, 2018 at 10:49pm, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 18 near 148th Street for a speeding violation. Deputies came into contact with 51 year old Helen Petrino of Farmersburg. Upon further investigation, Deputies located marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Petrino was placed under arrest and transported to the Clayton County Jail where she was charged with possession of a controlled substance 3rd Offense (Class D Felony), possession of drug paraphernalia, and speeding.


 

On November 13, 2018 Clayton County Deputies arrested 42 year old John Kottman on a U.S. Marshal’s Warrant for Felon in possession of a firearm. Kottman was transported to Cedar Rapids where he was turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal’s to face federal charges.


 

On November 14, 2018 Clayton County Deputies arrested 24 year old Warren Harvey of Strawberry Point on a Clayton County Warrant for Probation Violation. Harvey was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was held on $5,000 bond.

On November 15, 2018 Clayton County Deputies arrested 34 year old Amanda Swatek of Prairie Du Chien on a Clayton County Warrant for Probation Violation. Swatek was transported to the Clayton County Jail where she was held on $2,000 bond.


On November 15, 2018 at 8:12am, Clayton County Deputies responded to a car vs. deer accident on Highway 18 near the Highway 52 junction. Upon further investigation, it was determined that DeAnn Lenth of Luana was operating a 2013 Ford Explorer when she struck a deer causing $8,000 damage. No injuries were reported.

 

On November 15, 2018 at 2:04pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover on Highway 52 near Estes Point Rd. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Cyrenus Elsinger of Guttenberg was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado south on Highway 52 when he lost control. His vehicle entered the ditch and overturned striking a tree causing $15,000 damage. Elsinger was transported to the Guttenberg Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Iowa State Patrol, Guttenberg Ambulance and the Guttenberg Fire Department.


On November 16, 2018 at 9:06pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident in Highway 18 West of Marquette. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Douglas Bernhard of McGregor was operating a 2001 Ford F150 when he lost control due to road conditions and struck a guardrail causing $2,000 damage.

 

On November 17, 2018 at 7:08pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a car vs deer accident on the Osterdock Rd near Osterdock. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Mark Ehlers of Colesburg was operating a 2011 GMC Sierra when he struck a deer causing $8,000 damage. No injuries were reported.

 

On November 18, 2018 Clayton County Deputies charged 22 year old Andrew Rhoades of Strawberry Point with Criminal Mischief- 4th Degree after Rhoades broke a fire suppression sprinkler in the Clayton County Jail.

 

On November 19, 2018 at 10:04am, Clayton County Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Highway 76 North of Marquette. Upon further investigation it was determined that Ronald Rude of Decorah was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche when he lost control, struck a rock bluff and overturned causing $5,000 damage. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by MarMac Ambulance, McGregor Fire Department, and the Iowa DNR.

On November 20, 2018 at 3:57pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a car vs deer accident on the Great River Road north of Guttenberg. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Jeremy Boros of Paducah, KY was operating a 2018 Ford Transit Van when he struck a deer causing $3,000 damage. No injuries were reported.

 

On November 21, 2018 at 3:51pm, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 13 near 182nd Street for a registration violation. Deputies came into contact with 34 year old Brandon Genz of McGregor. Deputies determined that Genz’ driving privileges were suspended. Deputies arrested Genz for driving while suspended. During the arrest Deputies located drug paraphernalia. Genz was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with driving while suspended, possession of drug paraphernalia, fraudulent use of registration, registration violation, and no insurance.

On November 25, 2018 at 12:53am, Clayton County Deputies responded to a car vs deer accident on Highway 3 near St. Sebald Rd. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Mitchell Jipson of Jesup was operating a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu when he struck a deer causing $15,000 damage. No injuries were reported.

On November 25, 2018 at 10:46am Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Colesburg Road near 355th Street for an equipment violation. Upon further investigation, Deputies arrested 23 year old Shane Ingles of Edgewood for driving while license barred. Ingles was transported to the Clayton County Jail pending an initial appearance in court.

 

On November 27, 2018 at 5:23pm, Clayton County Deputies arrested 28 year old John Turner on a Dubuque County Warrants for Driving while barred. During the arrest, Deputies located drug paraphernalia. Turner was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
