On March 18, 2018 at 5:03pm, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on East Elm Street in Strawberry Point. Deputies came into contact with 35 year old Justin Farmer of Strawberry Point. During the stop Deputies observed signs of impairment from Farmer. Field Sobriety testing was completed and a urine sample was collected and sent to the Division of Criminal Investigation for analysis. On April 21, 2018, Clayton County Deputies filed charges of Operated While Intoxicated 2nd Offense. Farmer was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail.

On April 22, 2018, Clayton County Deputies took custody of 40 year old Teresa Ahearn of Waukon from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office for a Clayton County Warrant for Failure to Appear. Ahearn was transported to the Clayton County Jail where she is being held on $20,000 bond.

On April 22, 2018 at 2:54am, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 18 near Falcon Ave. Deputies came into contact with 30 year old Wesley Schmidt of Elkader. Upon further investigation, Schmidt was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with Operating While Intoxicated-1st Offense.

On April 22, 2018 at 9:00pm, Clayton County Deputies responded to a car vs deer accident in Highway 3 near Acorn Road. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Lillian Peterman of Oelwein was operating a 2011 Ford Escape when she struck a deer causing $2,500 damage. No injuries were reported.

On April 23, 2018 at 8:47pm, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to a possible intoxicated driver on Highway 52 near Garnavillo. Deputies located the vehicle on West Niagara Street and made contact with the driver 59 year old Renee Kolaas of Garnavillo. Upon further investigation, Kolaas was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where she was charged with Operating while Intoxicated- 1st Offense. The Garnavillo Police Department assisted in the Investigation.

On April 24, 2018 at 4:39pm, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to a traffic complaint of a possible intoxicated driver in the City of Garnavillo. Deputies located the vehicle and driver. Upon further investigation, 64 year old William Newman of Garnavillo was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with Operating While Intoxicated-1st Offense.

On April 25, 2018, Clayton County Deputies took custody of 34 year old Amanda Swatek of Prairie Du Chien from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office on a Clayton County Warrant for Probation Violation. Swatek was transported to the Clayton County Jail where she is being held without bond.
