On March 10, 2018 at 7:06pm, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to a car vs deer accident on Littleport Road. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Andrew Hughes of Gays Mills was operating a 2012 Ford Edge when he struck a deer causing $2,000 damage. No injuries were reported.

On March 10, 2018 at 8:14pm, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 76 near Antimonopoly Street in Marquette. Deputies came into contact with 34 year old Robert Riley of McGregor. Deputies conducted a driver’s license check and learned that Riley’s driving privileges were suspended. Riley was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with driving while suspended.

On March 13, 2018 at 7:15am, Clayton County Deputies responded to a car vs deer accident on Highway 52 near Kale Ave. Upon further investigation it was determined that Jean Smith of Calmar was operating a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado when she struck a deer causing $3,000 damage. No injuries were reported.

On March 14, 2018 at 8:22am, Clayton County Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Grandview Road near Hazel Road. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Justin Cummer of Garber was operating a 2013 Ram truck when he lost control. His vehicle entered the ditch and overturned causing $13,000 damage. Cummer was transported to Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. Cummer was cited for failure to maintain control. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Garber Fire Department, Elkport/Garber First Responder’s and the Edgewood Ambulance.

On March 14, 2018 at 3:50pm, Clayton County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Garber Road near Osterdock Road. Deputies made contact with the driver, 48 year old Christine Bailey of Garber. Deputies conducted a driver’s license check and determined that Bailey’s driving privileges were suspended. Bailey was arrested a transported to the Clayton County Jail where she was charged with driving while suspended, no insurance, and fraudulent use of registration. During the investigation, the Clayton County K9 was deployed and alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. Deputies obtained a search warrant and located marijuana and methamphetamine. A passenger, 49 year old Duane Gulbro of Guttenberg is being charged with possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine.

On March 18, 2018 at 6:35am, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to a car vs deer accident on Highway 52 near Jigsaw Road. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Taylor Elliot of Garber was operating a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze when she struck a deer causing $5,000 damage. No injuries were reported.
